Just a few additional selections today.
1pt win Broughton @ 8/1 – 1.30 Cheltenham
The triumph is always a fascinating race and its hard to pinpoint what the form of the various runners is worth but in Broughton I like what I see and feel with the ground drying this very good flat horse will have enough speed to see these off. Hes held in high regard by the stable who convert flat horses to jumps and he has every chance in a wide open race. Having Denis O’Regan on board is always a positive.
0.5pts e/w Barizan @ 66/1 – Cheltenham 2.05
Sadly Barizan is going for the county hurdle so the previous bet on him for the martin pipe is at least refunded. As per my previous comments he was well touted by Jason Maguire in the preview night and having Sam Twiston Davies on board is a huge benefit. We’ll soon see if he really is tearing up the gallops at home! Its a wide open race so hes no forlorn hope.
4pts win Briar Hill 2.40 Cheltenham @ 2/1
My nap of the festival, and i’m happy Patrick Mullins agrees with me. The best novice in Willie Mullins yard – enough said. Barring incident he wins, get on.
0.5pts ew Ruacana 4.40 Cheltenham @ 80/1
A bit more of a hopeful one, and another John Ferguson trained horse. He won some decent races as a novice and though his form this year is below par, hes clearly been laid out for the race, will enjoy the ground and is a nice price if he can get his jumping under order. Its a competitive race as you’d expect but hes not without hope.
Short and sweet, good luck to everyone betting today!
